HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE PACIFIC,

Lieut. Col. A. CADY, Seventh Infantry, Commanding District of Oregon, Fort Vancouver, Wash. Ter.: Str: The general commanding the department desires you to inform him when the telegraphic dispatch of October 1, directing the recall of the detachment under Licutenant Mullan, was received at Fort Vancouver, in what manner the orders were sent to Lieutenant Mullan, and when they were received by hin.
