HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE PACIFIC,

Lieut. Col. A. CADY, Seventh Infantry, Commanding District of Oregon, Fort Vancouver, Wash. Ter.: SIR: The general commanding the department desires you to halt Major Lugenbeel’s command at Fort Vancouver. For the present they will take post at that station.
