Washington, April 3, 1865.
Sir: I communicated to the governor general of Canada copies of your note of the 20th ultimo, and of its enclosure, relative to the information conveyed by Mr. ——,with respect to raids which are alleged to be projected from Canada into the United States, and I have now the honor to transmit a copy of his excellency’s reply, stating that that information had been already communicated to the Canadian government.
