Dr. Busch to Mr. Everett.
The undersigned has the honor to state, in reply to the esteemed note of the 25th ultimo, of the chargé d’affaires of the United States of America, Mr. H. Sidney Everett, that he did not fail at the proper time to transmit to the royal Prussian officers named therein the invitation in which the present representatives of the von Steuben family are invited in the name of the President and people of the United States to attend the centennial celebration of the capitulation of the English army at Yorktown as guests of the government.
The undersigned is gratified to be able to inform the chargé d’affaires to-day that the officers referred to gladly accept the invitation by which they have been honored.
