Sir: Your despatch, No. 1031, of the 10th of August, relative to the depredations committed by the Sea King in the sea of Okhotsk, has been received. No representations and no farther information upon the subject have been communicated to this department.

You are at liberty to exercise your own discretion as to the expediency of postponing action in the matter.
