Oliver, Jr Wolcott to John Adams, March 6, 1798
March 6th. 1798
The Secretary of the Treasury respectfully transmits to the President a Warrant for Three thousand Dollars, and requests that the President would be pleased to sign the Recd. on the back of the Warrant, in lieu of that signed by Cotton Tufts Esqr. for an equal amount paid by Genl. Lincoln, which it is proposed to leave in the Presidents hands.
