HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE PACIFIC,

Capt. E. A. ROWE, Second Cavalry California Vols., Aurora, Mono County, Cal. : SIR: Your very excellent report relative to Indian affairs in the Mono country has been submitted to the general commanding the department, who approves of the course pursued by you and your suggestions relative to future operations. The necessary instructions will be given for the balance of your men to be sent to you. You will then send to Fort Churchill such of your present command belonging to Captain McLean’s company. Your acting assistant quartermaster will send in requisitions for the amount of money required for your command.
