HEADQUARTERS FIRST OREGON CAVALRY,
Camp on Dry Creek, May 4, 1863.
SIR:
I have the honor to report that I left Fort Walla Walla, Wash. Ter., this morning with Companies A, D, and E, of the First Oregon Cavalry, consisting of 7 officers and 212 enlisted men, en route for Fort Lapwai.
