Inclose you Copy of the letter You requested, I wish you to well Consider the propriety of publishing It before you order It to be done.–€”

M r Yates has agreed to accept the office convention has been pleased to bestow on him, but such is the distracted Situation of affairs here that I have Intreated him to remain a day or two longer I mention this least the Hon: Council of Safety Should Consider his non-attendance in an unfavorable point of view.–€” 1

The Account of the Enemy–€™s Approach to Tyconderoga, was Groundless or If not they were returned before our Scouts got to the place where they were supposed to be seen.–€”

Pardon my vanity when I tell you that my arrival in ^ return ^ to this place has given Almost universal Satisfaction to my Country men, The County Committee Intend me the honor of a formal visit this Afternoon.

I have been spoken to on the Subject You mentioned at Kingston, 2 & know I shall probably be Able to give you some Information on that head, Adieu and Believe me D r Sir with Every friendly wish I am your Obed. t & Humble Servant
