Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the
receipt of your despatch (No. 14) bearing date September 21, 1861. Since
my communication to the foreign office here in relation to the maritime
treaty, a copy of which accompanied despatch No. 4, from this legation,
I have no word or note from the Prussian government on the subject.
