QUARTERMASTER-GENERAL’S OFFICE,
Washington City, August 17, 1863.
Col. THomAas SwWoORDs, Assistant Quartermaster-General, Cincinnati: Report the number of horses and mules forwarded to General Rosecrans’ army since 27th April last, at which time you reported that 7,357 horses and 11,692 muies had been sent to the quartermaster at Nashville, and 6,706 horses and 150 mules had been furnished to the troops of General Rosecrans’ army since November.
