A. L. C. Portman, Esq., Chargé d’Affaires of the United States of America, &c., &c., &c.:

We have to inform you that to-morrow, the 16th day, (9th June,) his Majesty the Tycoon will leave Yedo by land, for the purpose of punishing the Prince of Nagato and Suwo, and that Bungo No Kami, Suwo No Kami, and Satsibana Idlumo No Kami will leave at the same time, in his Majesty’s suite.
