Mandersteöm to James H. Campbell, September 19, 1866

Count Mandeström to Mr. Campbell.

Dear Sir: I have taken the orders of the King, and his Majesty has been pleased to tell me that he wished you would present to him Mr. Fox, as well as the commanders of the two vessels of the United States, on Saturday next, the 22d instant, at 11 o’clock a. m., at his private rooms at the palace of Stockholm.

I think it well to tell you that the intention of his Majesty is to visit the Miantonomoh on Saturday at 3 o’clock p. m., and to see on Sunday at dinner the American officers you can choose to present to his Majesty, and of whom you have kindly promised to give me a list on my return to Stockholm on Friday.

Yours, most truly,

MANDERSTEÖM.
