Earl Russell to Mr. Mason.

Sir: With reference to your letter of the 16th ultimo enclosing a list of vessels which had arrived at Nassau from American blockaded ports from the 18th of April, 1862, to the 2d of June, 1863, and to my letter of acknowledg ment of the 18th ultimo, I think it right to observe that her Majesty’s govern ment see no reason to alter the opinion as to the efficiency of the blockade which was conveyed to you in my letters of the 10th and 27th of February last.
