Earl Russell to Mr. Adams.

Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of yesterday’s date, and its enclosure, respecting the vessel Georgia, and I have to state to you that the matter will not fail to receive the immediate attention of her Majesty’s government.
