Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 15th instant in relation to the action which Her Majesty’s Government has taken with reference to the decree of the Venezuelan Government requiring ships’ papers to be deposited with the port officers, and to inform you that the American minister at Caracas has been advised that Her Majesty’s minister at that capital will act in concert with him in the matter.
