Mr. Pike to Mr. Seward

No. 151.]

Sir: * * * * * *

There has never been a time since the war began when the current of public opinion in Europe was setting so irresistibly towards the conclusion that the rebellion must succumb as it is doing now.

I have the honor to be, with great respect, your most obedient servant,

JAMES S. PIKE.

Hon. William H. Seward, Secretary of State, Washington, D. C.
