Lieut. Col. HENRY BINMORE, Assistant Adjutant-General :

Sir: My brigade proper (consisting of the Sixty-second Illinois, Forty-ninth Illinois, Fiftieth Indiana, and Twenty-seventh Iowa, together with Vaughn’s and Kidd’s batteries) numbers—marching strength—2,300,- with ample transportation. The two negro-regiments and the One hundred and eighth [llinois have 1,100 effective force, with deficient transportation.
