HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE OBIO,

Colonel WARNER, Commanding Regiment Kentucky Volunteers : ` SIR: The general commanding has placed upon you the responsibility of guarding the line of railroad from Lexington to Covington. The headquarters of your regiment will be established at Falmouth, and you will post your companies so as to effectually guard all the im- portant bridges on the line.*
