Capt. J. H. STEGER, Assistant Adjutant-General: By direction of Brigadier-General Douglass, Captain Carey, commanding at Columbia, Boone County, advises me that 360 rebels, mostly recruits, are in two camps near Providence, in Boone County, and requests me to co-operate with himself and Major Leonard, of Howard County, against these camps. Shall I go?
