Mr. Hunter to Lord Lyons.

My Lord: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 23d instant, asking to be made acquainted with the cause of the arrest and imprisonment of a Mr. J. Hardcastle, who is now confined in the Old Capitol prison, and to state that it has been referred to Major L. C. Turner, judge advocate, with a view of being enabled to satisfy the inquiry.
