Letter
Hoppin to F. T. Frelinghuysen, October 31, 1883
No. 259. Mr. Hoppin to Mr. Frelinghuysen.
[Telegram.]
London, October 31, 1883.
Mr. Hoppin telegraphed to Mr. Frelinghuysen that O’Donnell says he never enlisted in the Army; was only a teamster. Police reports wrong in this and other matters. Mr. Hoppin referred to his dispatch of the 23d October, and added that he had made unsuccessful attempts to ascertain the place and date of the naturalization of O’Donnell’s father, and fears that he cannot obtain further information from the prisoner or solicitor.
