Letter
Henry O’mahoney to William H. Brooks, June 12, 1881
[Inclosure 22 in No. 331.]
Mr. O’Mahoney to Mr. Brooks.
Limerick Prison, June 12, 1881.
Hon. Sir: As you are already aware, I was arrested at Ballydehob, in this county, on the 4th instant, as being reasonably suspected of shooting at with attempt to murder. The circumstances connected with my arrest I need not detail here, as I suppose you have seen it in the public press, and all I ask of you, through the great government which you have the honor to represent, is an impartial trial. I ask it as United States citizen, and only about four months after arriving home. An early reply, or an interview, will much oblige,
Yours, &c.,
HENRY O’MAHONEY.
