Sir: Referring to instruction No. 651, of the 21st instant, I have to inform you that the watch intended to be restored to the family of General Lafayette will be forwarded to you in a separate package by this mail; and you are requested to ascertain the eldest male representative of General Lafayette, and to restore the watch to him as the representative of the family, in accordance with the provisions of the act of Congress.
