Sir: I transmit herewith a printed copy of “An act supplementary to the acts in relation to immigration,” approved March 3, 1875, which I will thank you to communicate to the Chinese government for its information, Copies thereof have been sent to the consul-general of the United States at Shanghai, with instructions to communicate the same to the several consular officers within his jurisdiction.
