Hamilton Fish to Bartholdi, March 11, 1875

No. 234. Mr. Fish to Mr. Bartholdi.

Sir: Referring to your note of February 19, in relation to the geographical conference to be held at Paris, and to the Department’s reply thereto of March 3, I have the honor to inform you that the Department is now in receipt of a letter from the Hon. Charles P. Daly, president of the American Geographical Society, Cooper Institute, New York, dated the 6th instant, wherein he states that the Rev. Joseph P. Thompson, D. D., the Rev. W. Bjerring, pastor of the Greek church of New York City, and Mr. W. Wright Hawkes have already been selected to represent that society at the geographical conference, and that further efforts will be made to the end that the American Geographical Society may be appropriately represented.
