Letter

George Wright to Henry W. Halleck, November 29, 1861

HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE PACIFIG,

ASSISTANT ADJUTANT-GENERAL, Headquarters of the Army, Washington, D. O.: SIR: Since my communication of the 26th instant, nothing of interest has transpired within this department. At this moment (1 p. m.) It is not probable that the steamer which leaves here to-morrow morning will take more than the headquarters and two companies of the First Cavalry. It is possible, however, that the two companies of the Fourth and one of the Sixth Infantry may reach here in time.

Very respectfully, your obedient servant,

G. WRIGHT,
Brigadier-General, U. S. Army, Commanding.
