Bureau of Foreign Affairs, Port au Prince, May 4, 1875.
Mr. Minister: The government being informed that the persons named Nathan Modé, Alonzo Iacinthe, and Jean Alerte have taken refuge at your house, prays you to be pleased to deliver them up, (vousprie de vouloir Men les lui livrer,) sought out as they are by the government, according to the law.
The government does not doubt that you will appreciate the present measure, dictated as it is by a sense of the most precious interests of the country.
Be pleased to accept, Mr. Minister, the new assurances of my very high consideration.
