Letter

Eugene Schuyler to Frederick T. Frelinghuysen, December 8, 1883

No. 183. Mr. Schuyler to Mr. Frelinghuysen.

No. 52.]

Sir: Referring to my dispatch No. 42, dated October 19, on the subject of the prohibition of American pork in Greece, I have the honor to inclose herewith a copy and translation, marked 1 and 2, of a note I have just received from the minister of foreign affairs, which promises a new examination of the affair. The reference to information asked for at Berlin is probably called out by the fact that various statements have recently been published in the Greek newspapers about an outbreak of trichinosis in Germany.

I have, &c.,

EUGENE SCHUYLER.
