Edwin V. Sumner to Richd. C. Drum, September 28, 1861

SPECIAL ORDERS, ) HDQRS. DEPARTMENT OF THE PACIFIC,

No. 182. San Francisco, September 28, 1861.

1. Capt. Edward O. C. Ord, Third Artillery, having been appointed brigadier-general of U. S. Volunteers, is relieved from duty in this department and will comply with instructions received from the Adjutant-General, The command of Light Company O, Third Artillery, will be turned over to First Lieut. Edward R. Warner, who will receipt for all property pertaining to C Company.

3. First Lieut. La Rhett L. Livingston, Third Artillery, will relieve Capt. E. O. ©. Ord in command of Light Company C, Third Artillery, giving the usual receipts for all property pertaining thereto.
