Letter
Blaine to Julio Carrié, August 5, 1881
No. 11. Mr. Blaine to Mr. Carrié.
Department of State, Washington, August 5, 1881.
Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 28th ultimo, conveying the gratifying intelligence of the signing of a treaty between the Argentine Republic and Chili, whereby the long disputed boundary question is permanently settled. This government rejoices with its sister republics of the far south in so happy an event, and trusts that the harmonious relations now established between them may remain unbroken.
Accept, &c.
JAMES G. BLAINE.
