Sir: I have the honor to transmit herewith a copy of a telegram received this morning from the honorable E. Joy Morris, United States minister at Constantinople, reporting the execution on the 7th instant, at Adrianople, of the three assassins of Mr. Merriam.

Inform Mr. Seward the three assassins of Merriam were this day hung at Adrianople.
