Mr. Jones will inform you of the reasons why it is necessary for Captain Pishon to move as quickly as possible; to carry rations in the haversacks of the men, to carry barley in sacks, to use pack-mules if they can be had and to go the route through the San Gorgonio Pass, if possible.
