Letter

Andrew Jenkins to Isaac F. Shepard, November 1, 1878

A. Mr. Jenkins to Mr. Shepard.

Sir: I beg to hand you the original order which was sent to my agent at Chung Ching, in Chinese, with a copy of it in English. It is from Lee, the magistrate of Chung Ching. It explains itself. I have to request that you will forward a copy of it to his excellency the minister at Peking, and have most respectfully to ask that steps be taken as early as possible to prevent further heavy loss. I shall forward, as soon as received, particulars of a claim for loss of market, interest, &c.

I am, &c.,

M. ANDREW JENKINS.
