Andrew A. Humphreys to John G. Parke, March 25, 1865

HEADQUARTERS SECOND ARMY CORPS,

March 25, 1865—7.25 a.m. Major-General PARKE, Commanding Ninth Army Corps: I ordered out a reconnaissance some time ago. Shall I drive in the enemy’s pickets all along my line, and, if find his works slimly held, attack him?

A. A. HUMPHREYS,

Major-General, Commanding.
