Alfred Pleasonton to Joseph Hooker, June 14, 1863

HEADQUARTERS CAVALRY CORPS,

Major-General HooKER : A pe sen, belonging to Breathed’s battery, Stuart’s artillery, says that Lee’s army is divided into three corps, of 30,000 each, commanded by Ewell, A. P. Hill, and Longstreet; that Ewell is above Sulphur Springs, Longstreet is to cross at United States or Banks’ Ford, and that Hill is to cross in the vicinity of Fredericksburg. Three days’ rations were issued yesterday morning to Ewell’s corps. He thinks Ewell will be heard from before to-morrow night.
