Alexander S. Asboth to Señor Dr. Don Rufino de Elizalde, October 15, 1866

Mr. Asboth to Señor Elizalde.

Sir: I have the honor to inform you of my arrival at this capital under commission as minister resident of the United States of America to the government of the Argentine Republic, and would request that you may be pleased to ascertain the wishes of his Excellency the President as to the delivery of my letter of credence. At the same time I beg leave to enclose for his Excellency the President the letter of recall of my predecessor, the Hon. Robert G. Kirk, as well as a certified copy of my own credentials and the wording of my intended address.

I have the honor to be, with distinguished consideration, your obedient servant,
